Tim Godfrey Biography
His real name is Timothy Chukwudi Godfrey, but popularly known as Tim Godfrey, he was born and raised in Kakuri, a city in Kaduna State, Nigeria.
He is a Gospel musician, music director, recording artist, and the owner of ROX Nation Entertainment. Tim Godfrey came to limelight with his stunning hit single, “Agidigba” which got him fame way back in 2008.
His has released quite a lot of other projects which includes “Na you be God“, “So Good”, “Amen”, “Ahaa”, a special type of trap gospel song blended with an exceptional African rhythm, and much more. Years ago, young Tim Godfrey spent a lot of his childhood time in the church and it was at those years that he gained his skills and talents.
Today, Tim has created a unique style and music brand that has touched hearts and minds beyond just the church walls. Tim Godfrey has been blessed with so much opportunity to work on various projects with many Talented and popular Nigerian mainstream artists including, Banky W, with whom he performed the song “Gbemisoke” and Skales, on the hit single entitled “Amen“.
One of his top collaborations was with the internationally esteemed Gospel artist Tye Tribbett back in 2016. Together they spearheaded a music workshop hosted by the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) in Abuja, Nigeria; the workshops main purpose was to mentor and train aspiring music artists.
Also, Tim Godfrey is the guiding energy behind “Fearless”, an annual concert where he recently hosted legendary Gospel singer and Grammy nominee, Marvin Sapp. To add to his success as a Gospel musician, Godfrey is also a talented actor. Most notably is the off-broadway musical “EWURO” which he headlined at the Muson Center in Lagos, Nigeria.
The musical, which is in its third year, is an emotional piece that captures the struggles of women, especially in Nigeria, geared towards addressing discrimination and violence against them. It also featured top Nigeria artists Waje, Yaw, and Nedu.
However, his achievements are so many to mention, Godfrey has devoted most of his energy & time to his musical group “Xtreme”. Their quacking performance at Experience 2016, Africa’s Biggest Christian concert, solidified their influence in the gospel music arena.
Their electrifying and classical dance moves and vocals were nothing short of inspiring. Godfrey is a new voice with a fresh sound whose career has been on the fast track since inception; the journey and the vision are clear, Tim Godfrey is just getting started.
